I had also read a few things about how you shouldn't login to personal accounts using your tor browser. VPNs have turned over logs and information about their users to third parties, including government agencies, and cyber attackers have stolen data from VPNs. A VPN can see and log your destination if it has a direct connection to it. If you connect to a VPN directly, it cannot provide anonymity because it can see and log your IP address and your country location. I use a VPN and recently downloaded the tor browser for another layer of anonymity.
